Performance is where training comes to life. NCB dancers have the opportunity to audition for our performance companies, bringing classical ballet to the stage in professionally run productions for family, friends, and the broader community. From The Nutcracker to spring showcases, our companies represent the heart of what we do at Northwest Classical Ballet
NCB fields performance companies at multiple levels, from our junior ballet performers to our most advanced senior company. Companies are formed each season based on skill level, experience, and teacher placement – giving every dancer the opportunity to perform at the level that’s right for them.
Dancers must be at least 8 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of dance experience to audition. Placement is based on technique, skill level, execution, work ethic, and attitude – age is considered but not the sole determining factor. Final placement decisions rest with the instructors and directors.
Performance group membership comes with a higher level of expectation. Members and their families are expected to:
- Maintain excellent attendance in all required classes and rehearsals
- Participate in all scheduled performances
- Adhere to dress code and appearance standards at all times
- Volunteer as a family — one adult per family is required to help at a minimum of two showcase performances per season
- Annual participation fees apply, paid bi-annually — contact us for current season pricing
- Represent NCB and DFNW with professionalism and a team-first attitude, in the studio and beyond
